As a filmmaker, self-confessed Vimeo addict and lover of Short of the Week, I came dangerously close to having a stroke when Jason Sondhi (THE Jason Sondhi) got in touch with me 12 months ago, asking to have a chat. Fast forward a few weeks and I was part of a team I had been admiring for years, watching some incredible shorts and getting paid for it too! Yes, it really is as good as it sounds.

Put together, my top ten shorts of the year are an emotional powerhouse, a triumph of acting, writing and directing that defies glib description. They are also films which have had a massive impact on me personally. Whether it’s a film like Curve, which unnerved the shit out of me, Unremarkable, which ironically enough, was so enthralling I was late for my driving test, or Working with Jigsaw, which I have now watched over 20 times and can quote every single line.

Happy watching and I hope you love them as much as I do!
