With winter now officially over for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, March is a month you can shake off that duvet, emerge from the daze of hibernation and start planning those essential annual holidays.

And journeys are the common theme for our three ‘Best of the Month’ picks from the past 31 days. In Dan Miller we journey to Tokyo, Japan and follow our titular protagonist on a voyage of self-discovery as he discovers his existence might not have gone as unnoticed as he once believed. In Standby we take a whistle-stop journey through the relationship of two patrolling police-officers as cold beginnings lead to emotive conclusions in this BAFTA-nominated short. Last, but by no means least, animator Nicolas Ménard serves up a journey of spiritual enlightenment with his ‘silly, absurdist, but nonetheless meticulous’ Late Night Work Club short Wednesday with Goddard
