Short of the Week

In vicious comic form, London-based artist Steve Cutts encapsulates the tyranny of Man in a scant 3min.

A depressing, but darkly funny satire of Mankind’s megalomaniacal ways, this animation by Steve Cutts is a tour de force of environmental degradation, urban decay and domination posed as a simple animation walk cycle. Our titular symbolic hero moves through an ever-shifting space of mayhem acting all the while like, well, a dick.

Reminding us of early Stephen Irwin with the faux-antiquated cartooniness of the design, (and the dark outlook) Cutts has created his second viral hit after the success of last year’s In the Fall. As myriads of filmmakers have now proven, animation and cultural pessimism is a winning combination!

This isn’t a story about “man” in general…but rather, corporate “ELites”. If the earth needs a population reduction…reduce THEM!
