Somali pirates take over a huge cargo freighter at sea. Things don’t look good for our crew, but they have an ace up their sleeve—Vestrons! Engage!

This is a fun trifle. A quick 2 min branded VFX piece for Turkish appliance giant Vestel. German duo Alex & Steffen provide the direction, continuing their series of short works that feature the “Vestrons” powerful, but friendly robots which (I hope) don’t actually exist.

Again, it’1s a slight effort, but for two minutes of your time you get admirable CG, great cinematic photography and even a bit of humor. Check it out, and also take a look at their making-of video.

    Fun to watch, only I wish the pirates were actual Somalis or people who resemble Somalis. Tall, skinny, (totally not muscular) soft-haired Africans, with pointed noses shouldn’t be so hard to find.
