The Tea Master

Gifted with an impressive sword, an elderly tea-master must fight for his life despite knowing nothing of swordplay.

Remember when you used to go out in the backyard and shoot your mini-genre epics? Aaron Au’s first short, The Tea Master is like that, just waaaaaay better. Shot on RED in Vancouver, Canada the film sports delicious visuals as well as some very accomplished fight choreography.

Some of the character interactions are less satisfyingly developed, but overall Au does a remarkable job in immersing you into this bygone world of Samurai. One of our Great Film Competition entries, we’re glad to be able to share this film with you at last.

I liked The Tea Master. Cool fight scene ( the red…) I liked the location & the music & the feel of the film … The face on that actor(Tea Master) he didn’t have to talk at all… his face said it all.
