Though I feel like this Month’s ‘Best of’ playlist should come with an amber warning for bleakness, in terms of impact this trio of shorts really lands some knockout blows. Featuring one of the most emotionally powerful films (short or feature length) I’ve seen in some time, a thought-provoking take on the reverberating effects of crime and an unnervingly low-key look at sex trafficking, these certainly aren’t film from the light-entertainment department, but real conversation starters.
