November has been a strong month here on Short of the Week. Trying to narrow down a list of our three favourite films from the 33 we featured over the 30-days of the month has proved a difficult task – but we think we nailed it.

This monthly compilation of our favourite shorts has become somewhat of a ritual at Short of the Week Towers and rituals are the focus of our trio of films this month. The ritual pursuit of happiness, the ritual of the job interview (although we sincerely hope no job interview’s go like this one) and the ritual of the hunt (thinking about it now, there’s also the recurring theme of the ‘hunt’ running through these films – but that thought just makes Sweet Things even more uncomfortable to watch).

Featuring a topical drama with a keen sense of social consciousness, a relatable animation dripping with acidic commentary and a verité style documentary of an anachronistic custom, we think these three films are the perfect showcase of what you should expect to find on Short of the Week in a typical month.
