
The motion designer, Andy Martin, has put together an interesting music video for a long forgotten 1970’s British punk band. Though 30 years defunct, the Johnny 7 Combo has nevertheless managed a comeback via MySpace and other social networking sites.
In this video, Andy sticks to hand animation techniques using only newspaper and paint. The effect mostly works at capturing the lo-fi energy of the band’s music.

I’m still waiting for animators to run out of ways to surprise me.
Stop-motion animation has been around for 100+ years and is still alive and thriving. I have recently concluded that there will always be magic in breathing life into this static world.
