Great review. I especially appreciate the parsing of running time with regard to action movies. I don’t mind the conventionality of the plot at all – this is simply an ideal way to get a quick fix of action and adrenaline with the feelgood. The performances are believable, and that’s key: with ham-handed actors, this thing would be excruciating. But it’s awesome.

The other thing I appreciate is the William Gibson-esque compressing of “science fiction” so that with our current technology and culture, this film is a thoroughly plausible and feasible thing to occur 3-5 years from now, which produces a nice frisson.
